It was an interesting weekend to be at the Possum Kingdom Lake, because it’s extremely low, and it’s pretty cool out. But then we really weren’t planning water sports as part of the trip. It’s more just some time away with friends, going to Boudreau Herb Farm and Clark Gardens.
We stopped at Boudreau’s on the way to the lake. I’ve read about it in “Living Natural” magazine. I’m really glad I never made a special trip to Mineral Wells to go there, or I would have been pretty disappointed.
On the way home from the lake, we went to Clark Gardens. Last year we were there in April and the Lady Banks Roses were gorgeous. This year the Lady Banks had already bloomed, but the poppies were magnificent.
We were a little surprised by this sight at one of the ponds in the gardens. I’ve never seen snakes and turtles sunning together.
After we left the gardens, we decided to go to Trader Joe’s in Ft. Worth. It’s one of our favorite destinations and since the one in Austin hasn’t opened yet, it seemed like a good thing to do. Let’s just say, we left with lots! I got some great fish this time.
Then we decided to celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Mi Cocina restaurant. I had Brisket Tacos, and they were delicious.
Nina had a combo plate that was an amazing amount of deliciousness.
You girls worked up an appetite with all that walking and sight seeing! Thought about ya’ll this weekend…maybe next time.
