Author: Lanie Fioretti

My name is Lanie Fioretti and although I am not a classically trained chef or a degreed nutritionist, I have been studying food and nutrition voraciously since the early seventies. After working in public health and private practice for 22 years, I retired my dental hygiene license. I have taught cooking classes at Whole Foods and Central Market, done product development for a bakery in east Texas, catered, and been a personal chef. I usually think of myself as an improvisational cook!

Another Saturday at Friday’s

Posted on March 24, 2014 by Lanie Fioretti

Errands in Waco on Saturday, meant lunch at Friday’s Seafood and More.  This time I managed to take pictures before devouring it!  I don’t think I can go there, without at least getting a side of étouffée (no picture of that – not really photogenic food).  This time I had the soft shell crab and…

French Toast Waffle

Posted on March 23, 2014January 14, 2018 by Lanie Fioretti

I know, great concept.  Whether you call them French Toast Waffle or Waffled French Toast, they are simply delicious.  I don’t like making waffle batter, but I love waffles.  And I like French toast, but sometimes it’s a little “eggy” for my taste.  This is the perfect way to get the best of both, and…
