Author: Lanie Fioretti

My name is Lanie Fioretti and although I am not a classically trained chef or a degreed nutritionist, I have been studying food and nutrition voraciously since the early seventies. After working in public health and private practice for 22 years, I retired my dental hygiene license. I have taught cooking classes at Whole Foods and Central Market, done product development for a bakery in east Texas, catered, and been a personal chef. I usually think of myself as an improvisational cook!

We’re still going to some holiday get-togethers, and one of the things we brought to the last one was a hot artichoke dip.  I’ve made this dip a number of times, but this time I decided to put everything in the processor, because I don’t like stringy pieces of artichoke.  It turned out very delicious,…

YRU Fat?

Posted on January 3, 2014 by Lanie Fioretti

Can’t lose weight?  Here’s some information doctors and scientists are pondering.  There are lots of things we use or eat everyday that could be causing the problem.  And the effects of those substances, now called obesogens, could have begun with our parents being exposed.  They are hormone disruptors that can cause problems in several ways….
