Author: Lanie Fioretti

My name is Lanie Fioretti and although I am not a classically trained chef or a degreed nutritionist, I have been studying food and nutrition voraciously since the early seventies. After working in public health and private practice for 22 years, I retired my dental hygiene license. I have taught cooking classes at Whole Foods and Central Market, done product development for a bakery in east Texas, catered, and been a personal chef. I usually think of myself as an improvisational cook!

Deer Tenderloin

Green Chili

Posted on December 22, 2013October 16, 2018 by Lanie Fioretti

We had a small get together the other night and had a baked potato bar.  It’s hard to beat great toppings for a good baked potato.  I decided to make green chili instead of regular chili, as one of the toppings.  Typically, I’d use pork, but I had a ground beef, ground deer, ground bacon…

Sweet Ideas for the Holidays

Posted on December 21, 2013 by Lanie Fioretti

No time to bake for the holidays, no problem.  Don’t discount good ready made products that you dress-up.  I found some really good ginger snap cookies at Costco, and decided to do some little filled gems.  Of course, you can use other flavors of cookie for your sandwiches.  And the possibilities for filling are as…
