Author: Lanie Fioretti

My name is Lanie Fioretti and although I am not a classically trained chef or a degreed nutritionist, I have been studying food and nutrition voraciously since the early seventies. After working in public health and private practice for 22 years, I retired my dental hygiene license. I have taught cooking classes at Whole Foods and Central Market, done product development for a bakery in east Texas, catered, and been a personal chef. I usually think of myself as an improvisational cook!

Veggie Bean Burger

Posted on September 18, 2012August 22, 2016 by Lanie Fioretti

These were pretty impressive.  They’d be great as sliders for a party or picnic, because they can be made ahead of time, and you don’t have to worry about them spoiling.  I’ve made, and tried, a lot of veggie burgers over the years, and these are definitely a “keeper”! Crispy Hash Brown Plantains

Posted on September 17, 2012September 17, 2012 by Lanie Fioretti

Why plantains?  Because they’re great for a change.  They are such a staple in Panama, I just had to do my own recipe as a tribute. PrintCrispy Hash Brown Plantains Cook Time: 20 minutes Yield: Serves 4 This is such a good option for a starch at your meal. I made this for a side…
