Author: Lanie Fioretti

My name is Lanie Fioretti and although I am not a classically trained chef or a degreed nutritionist, I have been studying food and nutrition voraciously since the early seventies. After working in public health and private practice for 22 years, I retired my dental hygiene license. I have taught cooking classes at Whole Foods and Central Market, done product development for a bakery in east Texas, catered, and been a personal chef. I usually think of myself as an improvisational cook!

Thai Turkey Burger

Posted on March 8, 2012August 12, 2016 by Lanie Fioretti

This past week I went to Taste of Thai in Temple again.  I’ve been really hungry for Asian food, and I’ve been on kind of a burger thing, so this is what happens – Thai Turkey Burger.  This is a really good burger, and ta-dah, they more than passed the “Don” burger test! I almost…

Lentil Stew (Slow Cooker)

Posted on March 7, 2012August 22, 2016 by Lanie Fioretti

Wanting to have some meatless days?  I decided to make a lentil stew, but instead of putting butternut squash in the stew, I served it with Butternut Squash and Parmesan , and a brown rice and grain mix I make. PrintLentil Stew (Slow Cooker) Ingredients2 1/2 pounds butternut squash (halve, seed, and bake 45 min,…
