Author: Lanie Fioretti

My name is Lanie Fioretti and although I am not a classically trained chef or a degreed nutritionist, I have been studying food and nutrition voraciously since the early seventies. After working in public health and private practice for 22 years, I retired my dental hygiene license. I have taught cooking classes at Whole Foods and Central Market, done product development for a bakery in east Texas, catered, and been a personal chef. I usually think of myself as an improvisational cook!

February Gardening

Parmesan and Reduced Balsamic

Posted on February 14, 2012August 20, 2016 by Lanie Fioretti

One of the simplest of appetizers, that everyone loves.  If you reduced balsamic for the Pork Chops and you have some leftover, you may want to use it for this.  If you don’t have leftover, make some more, you’ll thank yourself later. Chocolate Torte (Gluten Free)

Posted on February 13, 2012August 20, 2016 by Lanie Fioretti

What a light, delicious, and easy dessert this is.  A springform pan is great if you want to unmold the torte for presentation purposes, but not necessary.  It won’t change the spectacular taste.  If you’re in a crunch for time, make it in individual servings, like parfait glasses.
