For those of you who have followed my problems with the deer eating everything, I think I’ve stumbled onto a fairly simple, and cheap solution. It’s not pretty, but it seems to work, and certainly is light years ahead of using mountain lion urine, and having to smell that in your yard!!
We have an abundance of lantana on our property. The deer won’t eat the lantana (so far). So, I’ve been clipping branches of lantana and hanging them in the plants that the deer are particularly fond of. Of course, the lantana dies, and looks a little unsightly, but not as bad as having one of your favorite plants becoming a nightly meal. I clip new branches and hang them on the plants, every few days.
