I feel compelled to say a little about Carson City, before I move on to other things. When I have cell reception, while we’re driving, I look for interesting restaurants in the town where we’re staying. Adele’s was the find for dinner in Carson City. We got there about 7:30 pm, and they have delicious food, when you finally get it. It took about an hour to get our order. Don had a little pork on pork (all pastured), fried pork chop topped with a fried pork belly gravy. I had sauteed oysters with a lemon caper sauce. We are never looking for a “dining experience” that involves an unreasonably long wait time for the entree. About 45 minutes into our stay, the wait person put a steak knife in front of Don. Don said he thought it was brave of her, because he might start slashing things – starting with the curtains, then move on to holding some artwork hostage. Truly, it was the best laugh I’ve had in a long time. The “dining rant” was all the more funny coming from him (of all people). Honestly, I can hardly write this, because I just crack-up. Oh, and I almost forgot, the bald guy that does the Farmers Insurance commercials, sat at the table next to us (with his family).
When we left Carson City, we spent a little time at Lake Tahoe on our way to Sacramento, CA. Lake Tahoe is one of the most gorgeous bodies of water, I’ve ever seen. It’s so blue and so clear, the water reminds me of the Caribbean.
