Mineral Wells (Texas) botanical park, Clark Gardens, is one of the most beautiful places to visit. We stopped to see it on the way home from Possum Kingdom Lake. March 31st and April 1 is their Spring Festival. For the map of where they’re located, click here. It’s a fabulous way to spend a day.
Clark Gardens has an iris garden of 1,500 varieties, and during the 2013 American Iris Society Convention, it will be one of the Master Plantings Gardens for newly developed irises.
We were lucky to be there when the Lady Banks roses were blooming. They formed an enormous canopy over a large part of the garden, when you first enter.
The chapel was small and had beautiful stained glass.
And the model trains and station were amazing. I don’t even know how many trains there were, but there is 1,200 feet of track of winding tracks going through tunnels, bridges, hills and miniature scenes.
