A couple of friends and I went to Clifton one day this week. Besides spending some time (and money) in two antique malls, we had a great lunch at Somethin’s Brewing. It happened to be Fat Tuesday and the chef made a delicious gumbo, red beans and rice, and cornbread. After lunch we went to see the keyhole garden at Keith Hardware. The bottom picture is a close up of the compost stack in the middle of the bed.
We were amazed by the garden “stuff” available. Then the highlight of the trip was what turned out to be a private tour of the Bosque Arts Center. It has a spectacular permanent art collection, one of the 16 best in Texas. It’s worth the trip to Clifton, and we’ll be going back in the fall for the art show.
