Community gardens are really lifesavers for some people. In Gatesville, the AgriLife Extension Service has started a great community garden by the post office. Rainwater is being collected from the roof of the post office to use for watering the vegetable plots. The food grown is for the Care Center, and anyone can help with the effort, even if it’s mentoring someone on growing a garden. AgriLife is hoping the people receiving help from the Care Center and Senior Citizens will participate. There are still some spaces available, call AgriLife for more information, 254-865-2414.
