Cooking at Lodge – Day Eight

Posted on December 13, 2012 by Lanie Fioretti

This morning I managed to make Baked Eggs, Smashed Potatoes, and sausage.  For the baked eggs, I used ham and pastrami instead of green peppers, to hold the eggs.  The nice thing about hungry hunters is – they’re pretty easy to please!

Tonight I thought Beef Stew and garlic mashed potatoes would be great comfort food.  Along with that there was a salad with hot bacon dressing, and mini sour cream biscuits.  Dessert was a Crustella.  It was “stick to your ribs” (and butt) good!  Regardless, it was a great pairing with the cold weather.

The surprising thing for me was everyone was pretty crazy about the evening meal.  And I almost didn’t make it, because it was so, kind of, not special.
