If you want an awesome combination of Asian flavors, Garlic Chive Scapes With Celery needs to be on your menu. Somehow, I overbought organic celery. Since it’s the time of year to harvest garlic chive scapes, I started concocting recipes! And yes there is a difference between organic and commercial celery. What most people notice is that organic celery tastes sweeter. Organic carrots are the same way. They have more flavor and are sweeter than their commercial counterpart.
To turn this scrumptious side into a main dish, sear or grill some thinly sliced beef or chicken (or use tofu for vegetarian). Then cut it into strips. Toss the beef or chicken or tofu with the scapes and celery, and a little oyster sauce. Serve with rice or rice noodles.
