Even though we plan our travels in off-season and when kids are in school, we can’t think of everything. Sometimes, it’s a holiday we’ve forgotten about, or a festival, or some other thing that draws more people than we care to be around. This trip, it’s Gatlinburg Burger Week. I like burgers, that’s all good. It’s the number of people and the amount of traffic. Why aren’t these people working? We were looking for a quiet stay in the Smokies.
So, we got the Official Gatlinburger Passport. All we have to do is have burgers at 3 different participating places, and have our “passport” stamped at each place. Then we’ll be entered for some prize, which no one can tell us what that is.
We just happened to eat at a participating restaurant, and being the good sport that I am (ha), I ordered their featured burger. I had already planned to have the burger, but stamp my passport if you like! It was scrumptious. Imagine a half pound burger, topped with smoked brisket and melted cheese. Bennett’s Pit BBQ is definitely worth a stop in Gatlinburg, even if it’s not Burger Week. For more info, on social media, go to #GatlinBURGER
