Wednesday was a great day to hike to Gorman Falls in Colorado Bend near Lampasas, TX. The weather was perfect, the wildflowers gorgeous, and I actually had good hikers on. Last time I went the soles of my hikers literally separated from the shoe part! The drive to Colorado Bend was not bad either, lots of bluebonnets, wildflowers, and green. The falls, well they were spectacular. There has been enough rain to really have a great show. I wish you could hear the sound as well as look at the pictures. If you go, make sure you have good shoes to walk a very rocky trail, and it’s steep at the end, so there’s guide wire to hang onto. The trail is 3 mile round trip hike (guided tours on Saturdays are only 1.5 miles round trip). Click here, for more information.
And now for some of the flowers. The most wonderful were the cactus blooms, thistle, and of course bluebonnets.
Just plain BEAUTIFUL!
It’s hard to believe this is so close to Gatesville and we’ve never been!
