Greenhouse Prep

Posted on July 15, 2013 by Lanie Fioretti

It looks like I’m going to have to start talking about the greenhouse, because I’m just too excited!  Don has been digging out the dirt, well really sand, where it’s going to sit.  We’re going to create a soil blend that’s better for the plants than our current sandy soil.  The neighbor’s cows that are on our property are really cooperating and contributing manure in the hole!

We’re using peat moss, green sand, river bottom dirt, composted chicken manure, cow manure, and maybe humate and diatomaceous earth to amend the soil.  For Mother Earth’s menu of organic fertilizers, click here.
