Eaten alone or with granola, pancakes, waffles, yogurt, ice cream, or cake, Honey Cinnamon Fried Bananas are a yummy treat. If you like cooked bananas, another simple and delicious recipe is: bake fairly green bananas, in their skin, until they turn black, 350 oven; remove to plate, split open lengthwise, top with marshmallow cream; scoop out like pudding. Of course, you can sprinkle with nuts and cinnamon, also.
Honey Cinnamon Fried Bananas
Ingredients
- 2 TBSP honey or brown sugar
- 1-2 TBSP butter
- 3/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 2 slightly green bananas, cut into 1” pieces
Instructions
- Add the first 4 ingredients in a skillet over medium heat, combine well.
- Place banana slices in skillet. Caramelize bananas on both sides (about 4 minutes a side).
- Serve warm or room temperature.
- Eat just as they are or sprinkle with toasted sliced almonds. Great with pancakes, waffles, granola, yogurt, ice cream, or cake. For a special lunch, add them to a peanut butter sandwich!
