Today I thought I might want to say a little bit about yoga! And don’t roll your eyes! It’s one of the best ways to improve your health and to stay healthy. It can be simple stretching or more complicated routines. Unfortunately, the classes I was going to were cancelled because the instructor took another job, and I’m kind of mourning that. I can do routines myself, but I like going to a class too. There’s a great “Good Morning” sequence, click here to view.
Some of the benefits of yoga include:
- reducing stress
- lowering blood pressure
- lowering cholesterol levels
- lowering heart rate
- improving circulation

Boost Nutrition with Food Pairings
Mother Earth News had a good article on boosting the nutrition you get, when you pair certain foods together, like blueberries and walnuts or eggs and cheese. The great thing is that it gets you thinking about all the dishes you could make that would be delicious, and you get a lot more nutrient dense food. To read the whole article, click here.

There’s a couple books, Kathy loaned me, I’ve just finished reading that are great information about what’s happening with our food supply, and what’s good to eat and why. One is Omnivore’s Dilemma by Michael Pollan. Sometimes there was too much information about his personal journey, and I skimmed those parts. The other book is Real Food by Nina Planck, and I read every word of it.
Also, I just received another Mother Earth article about grass fed and pastured meat that has a lot of good information, click here to read.
