We started out Saturday going to the Mayborn Center for the “Day for Women.” It was and event, I could easily miss next year. There were a few vendors that were good, but lots of medical type booths. I really planned the day around going to “93 West” for lunch, because the menu sounds great, and I wanted to be able to tell you about it. It seemed like a great plan, except I never called to see if they were open, and you guessed it, they’re only open for dinner on Saturdays. It wouldn’t have been so bad, but we drove quite a way to get there. Not that it was quite a way, but we made a few wrong turns – not enough space to even discuss here!! Since 93 and 6th street in Belton are the same, I just went back to 35 and down to Central, and we ended up at Jalisco’s for lunch (across from Schoepf’s BBQ). I’ve been there before, and it’s always been good. Today, I ordered fried tilapia. I’ve resigned myself to knowing, when I order fish out, it’s usually going to be farm raised. Well, the first plate I got was huge and it had rice, shredded lettuce, tomato, 3 huge gorgeous pieces of avocado, and french fries. The second plate took a little while to get there, and it had a whole (not breaded) deep fried tilapia with lemon and lime slices. Unbelievable, and delicious. And all of that was 8.99. Next time I go, guess what I’m ordering?!
