Had to make a day trip to Austin for a dental visit, and then went to the new Trader Joe’s in the Arboretum area on Great Hills Trail by Williams Sonoma. Decided to take plant pictures instead of food pictures. There are large Paddle Plants (Kalanchoe thyrsiflora) in all the beds surrounding Trader Joe’s, and they’re spectacular.
Some of the grocery items I like to get at TJ’s are: organic potatoes, cheddar from grass fed cows, ripe green olives, coconut oil cooking spray, Spanish EVOO, (right now) pumpkin breakfast bars, organic soft cream cheese, pasta, and KBC porter beer! I tried a new vegetable this time, kale sprouts (it’s a cross between kale and brussel sprouts), and it’s pretty delicious.
We went to lunch at Kerbey Lane (Allandale/Brentwood), and it was as good as usual. This time I got a jalapeño buffalo burger with blue cheese. It was scrumptious. I even got a “frequent diner” card, because it’s my favorite go to spot. So, we’ll see if I keep up with it better than I have for other restaurants in the past.
