Wednesday night I went to Prime 135 on Hewitt Drive in Waco with a friend. It’s a bit pricey, so it isn’t a place I go to regularly. While we weren’t that impressed by the entrée, the appetizer and the side were excellent (we split everything). The appetizer was seared scallops with crabmeat and the side was creamed spinach. So next time I’ve decided to order plain pasta and the scallops and the creamed spinach and put them all together, and that would be awesome. To see their menu, click here.

I’m not sure we’re going to see any kind of pecan crop this year unfortunately. Year before last we had to have harvested about 300 lbs in the shells. We have several different varieties, but the drought has really taken a toll, so maybe next year. Besides my secret weapon against the herd of deer that moves through here (eating the pecans), apparently has formed some kind of truce with them. It gives me a year to strategize!
