This week while I was running errands in Temple, I decided to eat lunch at Saigon Cafe again. I can’t begin to tell you how many times I’m going to have to go back, just to get everything I want to try on the menu. This time I had soft-shelled crab, one of my favorite things since I was a teenager, and living near the coast. In fact, it was my birthday dinner every year. Soft-shelled crab is the molting stage of the blue crab, when almost every bit of the crab is edible. Now, I know not a lot of you might be fans of soft-shelled crab, but there’s a lot of other things to choose from on their menu. Not only do they have Vietnamese cuisine, but they also have Malaysian cuisine. My biggest decision on my next visit will be between two duck selections, a fish entree, or (rice) flat noodle entrees. So far, I’ve narrowed it down to those choices, but that could change!
