From our home in central Texas, the couple hour drive to Cisco, Texas is a great day trip. In that small town, along interstate 20, is the Conrad Hilton Museum in the site of the first Hilton Hotel in the US. And just to make you smile, along all the sidewalks you’re greeted by colorfully painted vintage bikes. In addition, nestled in the downtown area is an amazing farm to table restaurant and market, Slowpoke Farm Market. After 2 years of looking at magazine article I clipped, I finally made it there!
The menu at Slowpoke changes every week (they are open Thursday through Saturday). However, they do such a great job with their food, I can’t imagine having a bad meal. They have the freshest local ingredients, presented simply and deliciously. We had Swedish meatballs, with rice, fabulous sauce, and sautéed carrots. But, as you’ll see in the pictures, the meatloaf looks awesome. To check their weekly menu, click here, for their Facebook page.
