Finally, the vegetables are producing – confused about the weather, but hanging in. It seems like it takes forever for the winter veggies to start producing, but when they do, I have more than I can eat. These are just two of the things to love about spring.
Right now we have loads of greens, arugula, daikon radish (and the greens are delicious), more tomato plants than I’ve ever seen (blooming in the greenhouse), and cilantro. It’s not too late to plant some cool weather crops, so get your seeds. Asparagus is one of the most dependable spring crops. It’s a perennial, so plant some roots, wait a couple years, and then harvest a couple times a day! This week I’ll plan our summer crops. We already have potatoes started, and baby lemons and oranges on the trees.
