Author: Angela. Part of the simple recipe collection that my daughter loved from 4 month-8 months. ( A small disclaimer: Nutritional recommendations for infants have changed radically since January 2010. Prior to that study, allergens were considered foods to delay and now the prevailing thought is that allergens should be introduced early. As with all recommendations, please consult your pediatrician to make a decision about what works for you.)
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 zucchini, halved lengthwise and cut into ¼” rounds
Instructions
- Using a skillet over medium heat, cook turkey thoroughly and use the back of a wooden spoon to break into smaller pieces.
- Add zucchini and cook, 4-6 minutes.
- Transfer all turkey and zucchini to a blender or food processor and blend to desired consistency.
- I found that simple ground meats were a great way to add vegetables that I wanted my daughter to eat but that made terrible purees on their own. Other variations that are delicious:
- Ground chicken and baked sweet potato
- Ground beef and baby spinach
- Ground beef and broccoli florets
