Happy Easter!
Saturday I went to the Waco Downtown Farmers Market. It was well worth the trip. It was a beautiful morning to be walking in the shade by the river, and shopping for really good food! Everything they have for sale is local. So the meat is all natural, grass fed animals, with no hormones. The veges are what’s in season, and no pesticides. At the Artisan Oven (breads), they bring their wood oven and cook on site. It’s really impressive. The only thing I was disappointed in was the price of the chicken and duck eggs, but I buy them from local vendors anyway. I’m becoming more and more convinced that our food supply could be a lot better, so I’m nudging the quality of what I buy to a higher standard. Yes it’s a bit more expensive, but cheaper than Dr. visits and prescriptions.
I didn’t eat breakfast there, but I could have. There were quite a few selections including crepes and breakfast tacos. It’s pretty easy to make a morning of your visit. For more information about the market, click here.
someone told me yesterday that the breakfast tacos were the best they have ever had
so I plan to get one next time I go
You know, they had some other breakfast items that looked awesome too. So, I’m thinking, start with the breakfast taco, and try a different thing every time I go.
