The heat this summer has really destroyed the hope of the most avid gardeners. There are only a few things still doing pretty well. We have been picking green beans almost all summer. They are Italian long beans (stringa a grano bruno), and they are tender, stringless, and delicious. The seed company is Franchi.
Additionally, we are still harvesting Thai Egg Plant which are about the size of a golf ball. A somewhat milder flavor and smaller seeds.
