Author: Lanie Fioretti

My name is Lanie Fioretti and although I am not a classically trained chef or a degreed nutritionist, I have been studying food and nutrition voraciously since the early seventies. After working in public health and private practice for 22 years, I retired my dental hygiene license. I have taught cooking classes at Whole Foods and Central Market, done product development for a bakery in east Texas, catered, and been a personal chef. I usually think of myself as an improvisational cook!

Just a reminder that when posts are no longer on the home page,…

Thought for the week: Try not to become a man of success but a man of value. –Albert Einstein       Just a few more pictures from Hawaii.  We kayaked and swam with the spinner dolphins one day.  They live in the bay where we stayed. We had to say a final farewell to…

Fall Garden

Posted on September 24, 2011July 22, 2016 by Lanie Fioretti

You’re looking at my weekend project, planting our fall garden.  I know it seems a bit ambitious to plant this variety of seeds, but I don’t plant a lot of any one thing.  I just want to make sure I have a harvest of something, and if I put enough out there, something’s bound to…
