Author: Lanie Fioretti

My name is Lanie Fioretti and although I am not a classically trained chef or a degreed nutritionist, I have been studying food and nutrition voraciously since the early seventies. After working in public health and private practice for 22 years, I retired my dental hygiene license. I have taught cooking classes at Whole Foods and Central Market, done product development for a bakery in east Texas, catered, and been a personal chef. I usually think of myself as an improvisational cook!

Club Sandwich Food Truck

Posted on March 16, 2015March 16, 2015 by Lanie Fioretti

This is a great treat for downtown Waco.  Club Sandwich is Asian fusion, and delicious.  At our table there were banh mi sandwiches, trashcan fries (awesome), and rice bowls.  They also have a great selection of tacos.  I had the pork trashcan rice bowl pictured below, and yes, I would order it again. The day we…

Crescent Pizzas

Posted on March 9, 2015March 9, 2015 by Lanie Fioretti

Another of the series of crescent roll recipes.  Pizzas are great vehicles for leftovers, for me, so there’s no real formula a lot of the time.  I’m using up things in my fridge and freezer. PrintCrescent Pizzas IngredientsSalami or pepperoni, chopped Ham (chopped into small pieces) Sausage, bacon, or hamburger (cooked and crumbled) Shredded cheese…

Chicken Crescent Pot Pies

Posted on March 8, 2015March 8, 2015 by Lanie Fioretti

There were some containers of Immaculate crescent rolls that were outdating in the fridge, so I went on a bit of a terror with recipes.  I used torn bits of crescents from other recipes, to cover the pot pies.  (While, I love the Immaculate product, getting the crescents out of the container, without tearing them,…
